The Invisible Load Is Real: Inside Our Free Moms Together Support Group
There’s a specific kind of tired that doesn’t show up on a to-do list. It’s remembering everyone’s schedules, noticing when the milk is running low before anyone else does, holding the emotional temperature of the whole house, and somehow still feeling like you’re not doing enough. If you’ve ever tried to explain that feeling to someone who just looked at you a little confused, this group was built for the version of you who’s been carrying it quietly. It’s called Moms Together, and it’s free.
What Moms Together actually is
Moms Together is a free monthly support group for anyone who identifies as a mother, at any stage. Whether you’re in the thick of it with a newborn, navigating the identity shift of early motherhood, or years into parenting and still trying to find yourself somewhere in the mix, you’re welcome here.
The group meets monthly on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., and it’s offered in a hybrid format, both in-person at our Collegeville, PA office and virtually, so you can join in a way that actually fits your life. Little ones are welcome, because we know finding childcare shouldn’t be the barrier between you and support. Registration is encouraged but not required.
What gets talked about
The group is facilitated by Madeline Ritts, LAPC, and the conversation tends to move wherever the room needs it to go that week. Topics that regularly come up include:
The invisible load of motherhood and the mental and emotional labor that rarely gets acknowledged
Reclaiming identity outside of being someone’s mom
Mom guilt and learning to hold boundaries without the guilt swallowing you whole
Attachment and practical, day-to-day parenting questions
Sleep, and the perinatal mood and anxiety experiences that so many mothers go through quietly
Relationships and shifting family dynamics after becoming a parent
Why a group, and why this matters
There's something that happens in a room (or a screen) full of other mothers saying the honest version of how they're doing, not the version they give at pickup or in the group chat, that individual reflection alone can't always reach. Hearing someone else say the thing you thought was just you tends to loosen its grip a little. That's the heart of what we're going for: Connect, Support, Regrow.
The group holds a few things as non-negotiable: confidentiality, first. What's shared in the room stays in the room. And unconditional non-judgment, second, because most moms are already judging themselves plenty without a support group doing it too. This is a space for general emotional support, real coping strategies, and honestly, just not being alone with it for an hour a month.
